Cardiovascular rehabilitation

Cardiovascular rehabilitation helps people after a cardiac or vascular event or living with a chronic pathology. It aims to restore endurance, improve respiratory capacity and boost confidence in exercise, in complete safety.

Rehabilitation
“A heart that is regularly stimulated by appropriate physical activity becomes stronger, more resilient and better protected against cardiovascular disease.”

Description

Cardiovascular physiotherapy is aimed at patients who have suffered a heart attack, undergone heart surgery, or are suffering from heart failure, arteriopathy of the lower limbs or arterial hypertension. It is also indicated as part of secondary prevention for patients at risk (diabetes, sedentary lifestyle, obesity, etc.).

The aim is to resume appropriate physical activity, restore endurance and improve tissue oxygenation, while ensuring safe monitoring. After an initial assessment (blood pressure, heart rate, breathlessness, functional capacities), I propose a progressive exercise re-training program, combining light strengthening exercises, walking, joint mobilization, stretching and breathing work.

Each session is tailored to the day's capabilities, with constant attention paid to signs of fatigue, desaturation or breathlessness. This approach encourages a gradual return to an active lifestyle and helps to reduce the risk of cardiovascular recurrence.
